![]() As someone who travels often, I found that when I was on the road it was increasingly difficult to stay on top of mu recycling and waste cleaning habits. I meet travelers all the time that have issues with the same habits. With this in mind, I wanted to make a list to help other travelers stay on top of their recycling and stay earth positive to help keep this beautiful planet clean while we travel and enjoy all of the natural beauty it has to offer. So here are my 5 tips for staying earth-friendly while on the road. 1. Plan Ahead When you are researching a campground or hotel, its easy to get distracted by other subjects, but one of the most important things is the facilities recycling policy. Always try and research what you can and can not recycle through the venue that you plan on staying at. Then, once you know you can make sure that you don’t bring items that will be just thrown into a dump when you leave 2. Bring Out What You Bring In. This is an old saying because it’s always been a great policy for travelers and campers alike. If you can make a plan to be able to hold all of your trash with you until you can leave and get to a facility that can handle the various plastic that you might be caring with you, you can put yourself in a great situation to recycle 3. Choose Your Bottles Wisely Keep in mind that not all containers are created equal. Some plastics are not a recycle friendly as others and if you can avoid buying them, you can avoid having to find a way to get rid of them. 4. Keep Our Tops On Remember that once the top of a plastic bottle is off, it can easily be lost or discarded. So try to keep ahold of it until you are finished with your beverage. Then once you ready for a recycling trashcan, put that top back on and you will have zero waste. 5. If All Else Fails Call In The Professionals
If you have found yourself with some larger items that need recycling, then it is probably beyond your capability to know what to do with these items, especially if you are in a city or town that you are unfamiliar with. That’s when the help of a junk removal service can come in handy. Most companies can haul away even the largest items, like washers dryers or even mattresses.
